Storage Conditions: Do not store crutches in freezing temperatures.
Safe Working Load (SWL): Adhere to the maximum user weight limit

  2. Extend or retract to the desired height. Release the buttons until they lock into position.
  3. Cuff Height Adjustment: Follow the same procedure to adjust the cuff height.

Crutch Usage:

General Safety Recommendations:

Conduct a comprehensive assessment of the user’s specific requirements before selecting the crutches.
Choose the appropriate gait or walking pattern to ensure adequate support and safety.

Sitting Down:

Remove both arms from the cuffs before lowering yourself into a chair.
Use a chair with arms and a high seat to facilitate sitting.

Getting Up:

Push on the crutch handgrip with one hand and the chair with the opposite hand to aid standing.

Using Stairs:

Ensure assistance is available until you feel safe using stairs.
Hold the handrail with one hand and the crutch in the other.
Place the crutch on the same step as the affected leg.
To ascend or descend steps, place the crutch and the unaffected leg on the step first, followed by the affected leg.

Walking with Crutches:

Non-Weight Bearing:

Keep the affected leg off the ground, holding it slightly in front with the knee slightly bent.
Move the crutches one pace forward, slightly apart and level.
Move your body forward between the crutches, allowing the unaffected leg to swing through.

Partial Weight Bearing:

Move the crutches one pace forward.

Place the affected leg on the ground level with the crutches, supporting some body weight.
Step through with the unaffected leg.
A clinician should advise on the most appropriate walking pattern when using crutches. Double adjustable crutches can adjust both the cuff-to-handgrip and handgrip-to-floor distances.

Important Note: Always consult health professionals before use. Their advice takes precedence over the information provided here. Conduct a full assessment of the user’s specific requirements before selecting crutches.
