ABOUT OUR PRODUCTS

What is Ultrasound?

Ultrasound works by bombarding the injury site with a very high frequency sound wave. The vibration generated has two effects. Firstly, at high doses, it violently shakes the injury site-although on a microscopic scale. This shaking helps to break down and soften any scar tissue, or thickened areas of built up inflammation that may have accumulated around the injury site. Secondly, the low dose of ultrasound can help accelerate the chemical repair process in the body. This effect occurs because the ultrasonic waves strike small cells called Mast Cells. The Mast cells are tricked into releasing the chemicals thus hastening the recovery process. Ultrasound can help almost all conditions that have associated

What is Interferential?

Interferential is really a modified type of TENS current. It provides the same benefits by decreasing sensations of pain, and helps to control muscle tone. TENS operates only at Skin level, Interferential currents penetrate quite deeply. Interferential is successfully used for Pain Relief, Muscle Stimulation, increased local blood flow and reduction of oedema.

What is Laser Therapy?

The term LASER is an acronym for the Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation. It provides enhancement of particular properties of light energy. Laser therapy has a significant effect on the process of Tissue repair, employing light energy to stimulate cellular responses.

What is TENS?

TENS is a battery powered electrical unit which uses electrodes placed onto the skin over a painful area to deliver electrical impulses to the nerve fibres which lie underneath the skin surface, providing pain relief by blocking pain signals to the brain via the spinal cord and peripheral nervous system, TENS stimulates production of endorphins, the bodies own painkillers.

What is EMS?

Electrical Muscle Stimulation is an internationally accepted and proven way of treating muscular injuries. It is a product derived from the square waveform, originally invented by John Faraday in 1831. Through the square wave pattern it is able to work directly on muscle motor neurons. EMS has low frequency and this in conjunction with the square wave pattern allows direct work on muscle groupings. This is being widely used in hospitals and sports clinics for the treatment of muscular injuries and for the re-education of paralyzed muscles, to prevent atrophy in affected muscles and improving muscle tone and blood circulation.
